1.4 Business Sellers

If selling as a business, you must provide accurate business details and represent that you have authority to sell on behalf of the business.

1.5 Prohibited Jurisdictions

Sellers must have the legal right to sell in their jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions may be blocked due to regulatory requirements.

2. Listing Requirements

2.1 What Can Be Sold

You may list digital craft patterns in formats including PDF, chart files, video tutorials, and related digital content. Patterns must be complete and functional.

2.2 Required Listing Information

Each listing must include:

  • Clear, accurate title and description
  • Craft type, difficulty level, and materials needed
  • Sample images showing finished projects (your own photography)
  • File formats included in the download
  • Personal Use price (and Commercial Use price if offering both)

2.3 Content Standards

Listings must meet our Content Guidelines. Patterns must be complete, accurate, and functional. File descriptions must match what buyers receive.

2.4 File Requirements

Files must be complete, legible, and in commonly available formats (PDF preferred). Corrupted or incomplete files may result in listing removal.

3. Prohibited Content

You may not list patterns that:

  • Are not your original work or properly licensed to you
  • Infringe third-party intellectual property (copyright, trademark, patents)
  • Depict trademarked characters, logos, or brand names without authorisation
  • Reproduce copyrighted designs without a licence
  • Are AI-generated without clear disclosure in the listing
  • Contain hate speech, discriminatory imagery, or explicit content
  • Are illegal or facilitate illegal activities
  • Cannot be legally sold in the UK

4. Pricing and Fees

4.1 You Set Your Prices

You set your own prices in GBP. Prices must be reasonable and not artificially inflated.

4.2 Platform Fee

Patterneers charges a transaction fee of 10% per sale by default. This is deducted from the sale price before payout.

4.3 Fee Tiers

Platform fees may vary based on your seller tier:

  • Default rate: 10% per sale
  • Founding Member rate: 8% per sale (for early supporters)
  • Future membership tiers: Reduced rates may be available through optional seller subscriptions (coming soon)

4.4 Payment Processing

Stripe processes all payments. Processing fees of [Y]% + [Z]p per transaction apply and are included in the platform fee.

4.5 Fee Display

The total price including all fees is displayed to buyers at checkout. You see your net earnings before confirming a sale.

5. Payouts

5.1 Payout Schedule

Payouts are processed [weekly/monthly]. Minimum payout threshold is £10 before a payout is triggered.

5.2 Stripe Connect

Payouts are sent via Stripe Connect to your linked bank account. You must complete Stripe onboarding before receiving payouts.

5.3 Currency

All transactions are in GBP. International sellers receive GBP payouts; currency conversion is the seller's responsibility.

5.4 Refund Deductions

If a refund is issued to a buyer, the amount is deducted from your next payout. If you have insufficient earnings, the amount may be recovered from future sales.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Pattern Ownership

You represent and warrant that you own the intellectual property rights to the patterns you list, or that you have proper licensing to sell them.

6.2 Licence to Patterneers

By listing a pattern, you grant Patterneers a non-exclusive licence to display, distribute, and deliver your pattern to buyers, and to use your listing content for marketing the platform.

6.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Patterneers against any claims arising from your listings, including intellectual property infringement claims.

6.4 Takedown Process

See our Intellectual Property Policy for takedown procedures and counter-notice rights.

7. Content Moderation

7.1 Our Right to Review

We may review listings for compliance with our policies. Listings that violate our guidelines may be removed without notice.

7.2 Pattern Removal

We may remove listings that: violate prohibited content rules; receive multiple valid IP complaints; are of unacceptable quality; or bring the platform into disrepute.

7.3 Repeat Offenders

Sellers with multiple policy violations may face account suspension or termination.

8. Customer Service

8.1 Response Time

You must respond to buyer enquiries within 48 hours. Failure to respond may result in reduced visibility or listing suspension.

8.2 Dispute Resolution

You must handle disputes professionally and work toward fair resolutions. Repeated disputes or poor service may affect your seller rating and account standing.

8.3 Chargebacks

If a buyer initiates a chargeback, you will be notified and given an opportunity to respond with evidence. If the chargeback is upheld, the full amount plus any applicable fees will be deducted from your payouts.

9. Seller Performance

9.1 Refund Rate Threshold

If your refund rate exceeds 15%, your account may be flagged for review. If it exceeds 25%, your account may be suspended.

9.2 Account Standing

Your seller rating is based on: response time, dispute resolution, refund rate, and buyer feedback. Low ratings may result in reduced visibility or suspension.

10. Suspension and Termination

10.1 Grounds for Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account for: fraud; IP infringement; prohibited content; high chargeback rate; repeated policy violations; or bringing the platform into disrepute.

10.2 Notice

We will provide notice and opportunity to respond where practicable, except in cases of fraud or immediate safety concerns.

10.3 Effect on Payouts

Pending payouts may be withheld during investigation of misconduct. Upon termination, outstanding payouts may be forfeited if warranted by the circumstances.
