This page explains the fees associated with selling on Patterneers and how payments work.
Transaction Fee
Patterneers charges a platform fee of 10% per sale by default. This covers payment processing, hosting, platform maintenance, and customer support.
Fee Tiers
Platform fees may vary based on your seller tier:
Fee Calculation
The platform fee is calculated on the sale price before any deductions. For example, on a £10 sale at 10%, the platform fee would be £1.00.
What the Fee Covers
Stripe
All payments are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe charges a processing fee of [Y]% + [Z]p per transaction, which is included in the platform fee.
Currency
All transactions on Patterneers are in GBP (British Pounds). Buyers pay in GBP; sellers receive payouts in GBP.
Payment Methods
Buyers can pay via credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other payment methods supported by Stripe.
Payout Schedule
Sellers receive payouts on a [weekly/monthly] basis. Payouts are processed every [Monday/first day of month].
Minimum Payout Threshold
A minimum balance of £10 is required before a payout is triggered. If your balance is below £10, earnings will roll over to the next payout period.
Stripe Connect
Payouts are sent via Stripe Connect to your linked bank account. You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before receiving payouts.
Payout Calculation
Net payout = Sale Price - Platform Fee - Processing Fee
Example: £10.00 sale - £1.00 platform fee (10%) - £0.30 processing (approx 2.9% + 20p) = £8.70 payout
Refund Deductions
If a refund is issued to a buyer, the refund amount is deducted from your next payout. If you have insufficient earnings, the amount may be recovered from future sales.
Chargeback Fees
If a chargeback is upheld against a sale, the full amount plus any applicable fees will be deducted from your payouts.
Currency Conversion
All transactions are in GBP. If you are based outside the UK, you are responsible for any currency conversion fees charged by your bank.
Seller Responsibility
Sellers are responsible for their own tax obligations. This includes:
Patterneers Role
Patterneers does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional for guidance on your specific situation.
VAT Registration
If you are VAT registered, you must provide your VAT number in your seller settings. UK digital services may require VAT to be collected on sales depending on your registration status and the buyer's location.
HMRC Reporting
Patterneers may be required to report seller earnings to HMRC under the Payment and On-Demand Reporting regulations. We will notify you if this applies to you.
Notice Period
We will provide at least 30 days notice before any increase to platform fees.
Continued Use
Your continued use of the platform after a fee change constitutes acceptance of the new fee structure.
Fee Reductions
We may reduce fees or run promotions at our discretion. Such reductions are temporary and do not constitute a permanent fee change.
Stripe
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your card details on our servers.
Fraud Prevention
Stripe employs fraud detection and prevention measures. Suspicious transactions may be flagged or declined.
Eligibility
International sellers may list on Patterneers, subject to regulatory requirements in their jurisdiction.
Currency
Payouts are sent in GBP regardless of your location. You are responsible for any currency conversion fees or exchange rate risks.
Tax Obligations
You are responsible for complying with tax laws in your country of residence, including any requirements to report or collect taxes on digital services.
